HOME

I called in sick to work today as I got no sleep last night and felt horrible this morning, The pain isn't as bad its more just a dull throbbing sensation now rather than pain.So I figured a day in bed would be the best option.
Thanks to everyone for their wishes its so lovely!!

I downloaded a few episodes of the Hills that I hadnt seen yet, read a chapter of my book, searched some more on SEEK, checked my work emails..and then I was bummed for ideas. Even thou I feel like rubbish there is only so much sitting around I can do. I then thought about food and opened the cupboard stared blankly then spotted soup. Ever since I was little whenever Im sick I always eat soup, its the best comfort food when your ill.

I then needed to go to the chemist to get my scripts filled out, I felt like putting a paperbag over my head and going to Bay Street but I couldnt find any brown bags. I walked out of our apartment block to hear "The final count down!" blasting from somewhere - The oval behind our apartment block was hosting a school sports carnival - so that blew my whole "keeping a low profile".

While my script was being filled I went to the supermarket next door and brought some more tea I brought about 5 boxes but the flavors all sounded so good!

This isle is by far my favorite isle in the whole supermarket!
What do you do when you're home sick from work? Send your suggestions my way!

  1. Sleep and rest, you need it...but...if you have energy, it's a great time to give yourself a mani/pedi and do some facemasks. Helps make you feel less 'ugh' too. Try to avoid being on your laptop, always makes me feel worse. If you get bored watching tv and need something to do with your hands, crafts work too. A bit of retro colouring-in can work wonders for helping you to relax too :-)

  2. Im sick today, have a swollen cheek. So had to cancel our anniversary weekend, worst timing ever.
I'm just lazing around at home, listening to music, reading blogs and avoiding online shopping!
    Hope you get better soon

  4. This is so weird ... My friend just said to me she just had to drag her body down bay street to go get her scripts filled too. I feel like I need to MOVE TO PORT MELBOURNE haha. Rest and sleep it is soooo important. Your body has the ability to heel itself so much with sleep. Also a nice tepid bath with some candles maybe a good magazine and bubbles ( as in bubble bath not champagne LOL )

  6. I hope you feel better very soon! Soup and tea are my must-haves to feel better.
When I stay home from work I watch trashy tv shows, sleep most of the day, make to-do lists and put a hair mask in all day.

And I watched three old episode of The Hills yesterday. Sometimes I like to go back and see it all over again :)

  8. Feel better soon! I had a very minor surgical procedure done yesterday so I am also feeling under the weather. Baths are really good. I'd have one but I can't get my stitches wet. Something nice and smelly in there like lavender.

  14. Oh, I hope you feel better soon. Unexplained pain is the worst. Rest and soup sound like the best thing for you.

I'm embarrassed to say I have seen every episode of the hills. I have one of those style/people crushes on Lauren. She is wonderful and I absolutely love her website!

  15. hope you are feeling better today!! Soup is good for a sore tummy! I'm asian, so when we are sick we make a diluted rice porridge called congee, its light so it wont upset the tummy. Maybe google it, its mega easy to make but really bland.
