INVISALIGN

Last Year I blogged about looking into Invisalign you can read about it Here.
This morning I went to the dentist for my final workup!
I'm excited its all finally happening.

The stages are:

Step 1: Routine Examination and Dental Health: I had this done a few months ago just to make sure that your teeth and gums are healthy enough to continue with the treatment.

Step 2: Diagnostic Work Up: Which is where they do thorough scans/digital images of all of your teeth and more x-rays.

I had step 2 done this morning it took about an hour and it they took photos of each tooth, took some measurements and created a image of my mouth and teeth.

Step 3: Viewing treatment methods - This comes next, in about 2 weeks my 3-D images will come back and I can go and view how my teeth will change week by week - month by month if I am happy with the end result I find out the exact cost and lenght of treatment. If I am happy with how my teeth will look at the end of the treatment my aligners then get shipped from Amercia!

Step 4: Commence treatment!
I cannot wait for this one.

So in about 3-4 weeks I should have my alligners here and starting treatment. I'm actually really excited to begin fixing my teeth as its something that I always notice about people! I was given an estimated of how much it would cost today and actually came in under what I had expected intially.

It can be an expensive procedure as it can go upto $10,000 depending on where you go but I would say if you have been thinking about Invisalign for a while now, do some research and to your local dentist who will generally provide you with a free consultation.

STRAYA' DAY

Long weekends always fly by so fast.
I actually woke up yesterday in a panic thinking what if it's not a public holiday and I've misssed work? Freak I know.

Everyone loves a post that starts off about food - so here it is.
On Friday a group of us headed out for lunch to Leftbank - We work right next to it so its the perfect little place to go! Their happy hour is my favourite but lets not discuss that now.

I had the Warm Korean BBQ Beef salad  - I've had this so many times before and it just gets better better and better each time!  One thing that Left bank does good is their pizza! My colleagues ordered a BBQ beef Pizza.. I had a bite and omg the sauce on that pizza was amazing!

I've noticed how much Australia "Strayla Mate" Day celebrations really can bring out the inner bogan in all of my facebook friends.. haha! I did my part to help with feeling Aussie and made the boyfriend and myself some vegemite on toast. He looked at me and asked "what is this for?"

We caught the fireworks later that night from our Balcony.
In the midst of my nesting stage we (the boyfriend) decided to upgrade our TV after alot of umming and arrghing we decided with the 65inch which makes our lounge room look a movie cinema.
I wasnt complaining as I know zilch about tvs so he made a good choice.

My favourite feature is that its sound activated which is great for someone lazy like myself. You just have to say "TV" first and then it comes up with a list of options.. EG; Change the channel, Volume up or down.. Search functions etc etc - All while sitting on the couch. Bingo!

I also dragged the boyfriend to House on Sunday as I wanted to get a new dinner set - They had some great sales on but nothing was jumping out at me to say buy me buy me! I did like this platter by Marie Claire but not enough to buy it.

I did tho fall in love with these Chloe sunglasses - The boyfriend made sure he had made up some excuse to leave the store before I could take them to the counter.

Lastnight we ended up picking up Crust pizza for dinner - I love Crust and it's probably the only pizza that i'll eat nowdays and we make it a rare thing which also adds to the excitment.

Mmmm..Pizza
Please dont judge me hahahaha.

On a serious note - Just looking at all of these floods and natural disasters Australia wide - I hope everyone remains safe and away from danger xx

Confessions of a Blogger

Recently a blog I follow posted "Confessions of a Blogger" tag. I really loved reading it so I thought I would post my own.

When did you start a blog?
I started That Brunette One in 2011.

Have you had any past online presence before? (Other blog, youtube, ect.)
TBO was the first blog I created - If you call Twitter and Facebook and online presence then yep!

Why did you start a blog?
It was more of an online diary, I loved reading about different fashion trends, style and was drawn to persoanlised lifestyle bloggers as it was interesting! I thought I would start with bits and pieces and over time it has evolved into a lifestyle blog! Its fun.

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
One day, I was hit with inspiration for this blog, and it has been a big part of my life since then.

What was your first post?
My first post was "25 questions" about myself.

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
My biggest challenge has definitely been making sure that I have enough time to post! Especially when you start to get more followers the last thing you want is to follow a dud blogger who never posts anything! Also on a negative note - The amount of ano commenters out there who troll blogs, Luckily enough I havent had too many comments but its def annoying!

Where do you see your blog in 1 year?
Hopefully still in full swing!

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
Being about to interact with other bloggers!

What is the most discouraging thing that has happened to you?
Negative comments! Not that it phases me all too much as its never been anything too personal - thankfully but its always makes you second guess!

What's your lasting source of inspiration or motivation?
Other bloggers keeping up their regular posts!

If you want to complete your own - Tag me I'd love to hear your answers xx

iPhone5 + Shoes..

I finally joined the club and upgraded to an iPhone5. I actually wasnt a fan when D first brought his hence why I didnt upgrade but now I have it.. I dont know why it took me so long. White 32Gb - Its so much quicker, lighter and ahh love it.

I just realised this post makes me look I buy alot of shoes..but believe me I really dont! The other week I was doing some online shopping when I got sent a link for Katies. I had never shopped there before as I figured it was more of an older ladies shop? Apologies if I offend anyone! I clicked on it and they had a huge shoe sale.. I picked up a pair of flats for $15.00 reduced from $49.00. I chose the tan and black colour combination, best part - They arrived 2 days later! Express

On Sunday we went to DFO southwharf and I was caught by the big pink sign in NOVO that they had a 50% off sale.. Poor D was dragged into the shop and he stood in the corner while I looked around, they had so many pieces on sale my eyes where buldging. With my nagging concious in the back of my head saying "you need to save!" I put down the 4 (yes 4) pairs of shoes I was holding and went to the counter with just a pair of bone flats. Reduced from $59.00 to $20.00 and then when I got to the counter the shoes came down to $10.00. Winning!

Speaking of shopping I went onto Ozsale and ordered a haul from Revlon - I'll post about that when it comes - my only annoyance with Ozsale is the waiting time 21+ days!

Have you brought hot cross buns yet? Sadly I have. I much prefer the fruitless ones!

I finally got around to doing a wardrobe cull on Sunday morning - before getting side tracked with all the pieces of clothing that I found and deciding that I wanted to keep it all. I have this issue as I'll think "Oh I'll wear it some time..Knowing damn well that I never will!"
I think I'll pay someone to rade my wardrobe and do it for me.. Any takers?

Australia Day weekend - Woohoo! What are your plans?

WEDNESDAY NIGHT UPDATES

Ive been pretty impressed with my efforts this week I've jumped back on the fitness bandwagon again or maybe it was just the fact I realised its bikini weather.. haha but either way I've been to the gym each night this week and gone for a run.

Date night - On Saturday the boyfriend and I went out for dinner to Hollyhock. I had been there before but D hadn't. Don't get me wrong I dont mind public displays of affection - BUT there is a line. We where sitting on a table in the middle and behind us was a table for 4.. There was a couple no older than 18 who came in half way through our meal sat down and just sat their all over each other, pashing and barely coming up for air, feeding one another and patting each others hair! It was so off putting and even some of the other patrons started to feel uncomfortable. It was so odd.

We were so bad and had banana pancakes with passion fruit and chocolate. I'm proud to say I just ate the ice-cream and banana from the top while D gave the pancakes his best shot!

While we are on the topic of bad foods - This morning on my way to work I took a little diversion and went the long way to southbank and accidentally came across the Lindt store - I could smell the chocolate before I realised they also made coffee's - Perfect I thought while waiting for my latte I was just looking around and kudos to the person who designed the lay out because its their fault I decided to buy a whole bag full of goodies - $10.00 for a 100g bag so after a couple of handfuls of my favourite ones I went to the counter and it was "$15.90" Opps.

I have thick hair which on some days has a mind of its own so the other day when I had my re-growth done I asked my hairdressing what shampoo she would suggest? I tried this for the first time this week and honestly this stuff is amazing. It actually takes the frizz right out of my hair and its been my 4th day without washing it and still going strong. Hahaha winning!
Have you ever used this one before? If so I'd love to hear your thoughts.. or other suggestions?

NESTING..

Yesterday we went to Nick Scali at DFO South wharf to look at some bits and pieces for our apartment as we (I)  are going through a nesting phase. I wanted to purchase some new bedside tables when D suggested we should just buy a whole new bed suite that way it'll all match. OK you wont get any arguments from me on that one!

I love these mirrored bedside tables and it also came with a tallboy!
We haven't decided on bed (above) as yet I prefer the one of the right because of the tall head and the cushion look that it has on the bedhead. The prices between the two weren't huge either.

Despite only recently purchasing a new sofa D was suggesting that we purchase another one that he became a fan of while sitting down..  I dont think so!

We left empty handed as we didn't find anything that was "Yep I want that!" Can you suggest any other great furniture places?

HELLO 2013

Welcome 2013..
I'm 7 days late I know, but in my defense I only got home from holidays on Saturday.

This morning was worse than I thought it would be and to make matters worse my suit pants decided that they would shrink whilst I was away on holidays so I had to suck it all in this morning before zipping it up hahaha..  Thats the story I'm going with anyway.

Then my MYKI decided not to register on the little reader but I ended up getting to work on time because there was hardly any traffic when I got to work during our morning meeting our Managing Director gave each of us a Bottle of Red Wolf Blass - Not a bad start for our first day back.

I love nothing more than a fresh clean diary. I didn't even want to write in it today because my hand writing wasn't in work mode and was looking disgusting hahah SO i decided to leave it blank.

I had over 200+ emails in my inbox and instead of freaking myself out I organized them into 3 different sections - "Urgent" - "Wait until tomorrow" - "Next week" Id like to say I could put a good half in Next week but they will be actioned tomorrow. Whats your survival guide to coming back from holidays?

We recently purchased a new dining table for our apartment (Finally ha!?) Ignore the mess in the apartment we where in the middle of cleaning out/up the apartment but I was too excited and snapped this photo. I love the glass settings and its complete with white leather chairs.

We also went hunting for a new TV but there was too many choices. We currently have a Samsung LED but we want something larger - we went into the store with our minds set on buying the new Samsung smart tv until the sales assistant showed us the differences in the image quality and now I actually want to get rid of my TV hahah.. I've left the decision upto D its much easier that way.

I made dinner tonight - and if I do say so myself it was bloody tasty! Chicken satay stir fry with vegetables it wasn't until I was half way through eating that I realised I had left out the broccolini hahaha  - this is why I am not a chef! I want to start cooking more this year especially as I am looking to start eating alot cleaner so Id love some suggestions on any websites you know of that have clean healthy recipes?

Speaking of luck - Each year dims mum makes a Greek new years cake/bread they put a gold coin in the middle and whoever cuts the piece that holds the coin is said to have good luck in the coming year. This year I won! I was so excited that I squealed over the situation. So I figured that was a pretty good way to start the new year.
How are you tracking with your new years resolutions/goals?
